Klambra turf wall exterior facade
Reykjavik´s most modern swimming pool, Sky Lagoon has been a popular destination for tourists visiting the Icelandic capital. Its elegant design has a deep reference to Icelandic building heritage, using the traditional turf wall technique of klambra.
We build the exterior façade, using the same approach as our Icelandic ancestors did when building their own turfhouses centuries ago. The turf is cut in a bog using traditional tools and the wall build in a way that creates a herringbone pattern.
